Hello, we are Neroli and Jaime.
Two everyday women, mums, wives, and friends who believe something simple and powerful: every person is special, worthy, and enough. We also believe there is joy to be found within the everyday ordinary moments. Over the years, we’ve watched how easily people forget that, especially in a world that moves too fast.
We are a small, passionate team based in Gympie, in the beautiful North Sunshine Coast region of Queensland, and everything we do is built around bringing more joy into everyday life. Joy Scouts was born from a shared love of creativity, community, and the art of making people feel good.
Where it all began.
It began with us noticing little things, that people were becoming increasingly more
disconnected and lonelier, even when surrounded by others. Days felt busy and
full of tasks. Meaningful moments were slipping away. We wanted to help people
feel joy again, and to spread that feeling outward to the people they love.
Joy Scouts is our way of helping others add those moments back into their lives: small
reminders that you matter, thoughtful surprises that arrive at just the right
time, and simple gestures that brighten a day and shift something inside you.
The first was Mailbox Magic. We saw how much joy people still felt when they received traditional mail - the anticipation, the excitement, the feeling of holding something real in their hands.
Letters slow you down. They make you feel remembered. They create a sense of
belonging, even between people who have never met. We wanted to bring that
feeling back into the world.
The second spark came from gifting. We watched people struggle to choose thoughtful gifts, even when they genuinely wanted to. Life made it hard - too little time, too
much uncertainty, not enough confidence to choose something meaningful. Gifts
became vouchers, scratchies, or “that’ll do” purchases. We wanted to make gifting joyful again, to help people express love in a way that felt more personal.

The moment everything clicked: Our moment arrived.
We stumbled across a community sending traditional mail to strangers - artworks, stories, tiny snapshots of everyday life. Each envelope was a little package of joy. Watching people run to their mail boxes with childlike excitement reminded us of our own childhoods, when receiving mail felt magical. We began to wonder, what if spreading joy could be our job?
At the same time, Neroli realised she was already helping people with their gifts -
offering ideas, choosing thoughtful items, wrapping them with care. That’s her
magic. Jaime was shaping our corporate gifting idea, and together we recognised
that people often don’t have the time to create a thoughtful and personalised
gift. We wanted to help bring the joy back to gift giving and the thought
occurred to us “Why don’t we do this for others? Why don’t we make gifting
joyful again?" From there together we developed the concept that is our Thoughtful Gifting Service and our ready-made care packages.

pieces and experiences designed to delight - from our signature subscription to
carefully chosen finds that make life feel a little lighter and more joyful.
Whatever we offer is made with intention and a whole lot of heart, shaped to
help someone feel seen, valued, and remembered.
A big part of that intention is our commitment to supporting emerging artists. Every product becomes an opportunity to shine a light on talented creatives who deserve to be seen - because we believe art and joy go hand in hand. When

Who we are: Our backgrounds are a bit like a patchwork quilt.
We have a working history of financial planning, accounting, farming, tourism, graphic
design, photography, and years of helping others choose gifts. It's taught us
how to notice details, tell stories, create beauty, and make people feel cared for. We know what it feels like to rush through life without noticing the good bits. And we know how powerful it is to slow down and feel alive again.
Our belief is simple: we believe joy grows when shared.
We started Joy Scouts because we wanted to bring back the magic of receiving something beautiful - something made with intention, something that makes you smile. In a world that moves fast, we’re here to slow things down, just for a moment, and remind you that joy is always worth feeling and sharing.
